About Mara
Who is this Mara Vizzutti? I’m a transplanted Albertan living in Nova Scotia who has been working in the field of personal empowerment and leadership development since 1991. How did I get into this line of work?
In my twenties, I went on a quest to discover my life purpose. This multi-year journey of exploration led me to enroll in different workshops and courses to uncover this information and to figure out the meaning of life. AIong the way, I learned a lifetime of lessons including how to define and live a successful, fulfilled life by my own standards. I attribute much of this learning to a series of courses called “The Excellence Series” trainings in personal leadership effectiveness. Founded in San Francisco and with offices in Canada and the U.S, this adult learning organization and its courses transformed my life and the lives of thousands of others as well. I left my job and began working as a commissioned sales person so I could play a role in sharing this influential series for success with others. Thus began my ten year career in sales, sales management and facilitation of what I believe to one of the highest caliber series of courses in adult education.
During this period I had the privilege of delivering The Excellence Series seminars and working with hundreds of people across western Canada. Some cornerstones of the 1st 4 day seminar were: exploring personal paradigms, accountability, effective communication tools, win/win strategies and success in relationships. I was fortunate to have received extensive leadership & facilitation training throughout my career. Working primarily in Calgary, I conducted individual and group coaching sessions as well. Countless individuals have created tangible, meaningful results personally and professionally as a result of this work. By the way, I did define my life purpose in my twenties. It is: To inspire and persuade others to define their “big game” and pursue it with passion!
In 2001, I started my own business and began delivering workshops and coaching solutions in Calgary. To this day I am passionate about working with leaders to unleash their potential so they may inspire others to also be the best they can be. Engagement is everything. I believe leaders must first get in touch with the fire in their own bellies and lead from this posture. From this stance, they will be able to engage and lead others in compelling ways!
I love living in Nova Scotia and have delivered seminars and corporate coaching solutions to numerous organizations in and outside the Halifax area. A few of the participating organizations include:

In addition to having completed a Bachelor of Education, I also hold the designation of Accredited Certified Coach as recognized by the International Coaches Federation. I am a knowledgeable member of the coaching industry and I build on my existing credentials with additional professional development annually.
I approach facilitation in a respectful manner, with a hands-on approach and a good dose of fun. I believe people learn best when they are having a good time. I am committed to creating more inspiring work environments by generating clarity and providing practical tools that enhance communication effectiveness, accountability and engagement.
I am driven to make a difference to my clients and to my community.
Some of my other passions: I love learning. I am now learning the Spanish language for example, as luck would have it, I already speak Italian. I love cycling, rug hooking, physically active vacations, sushi, hiking and feeding people at my dinner parties. I love meeting new people.
